Embed on your website →Disability benefit is normally calculated as 66 % of the average of your pensionable income for the three best of the five years before you became disabled, capped at 6 times the base amount (6G). If you have low or no prior income, you still receive a minimum rate that depends on whether you live alone or with a spouse/partner, and whether you're young-disabled.
From May 1, 2026, the minimum rate is 318,023 kr for those living with a spouse/partner/cohabitant (2.329G), and 345,332 kr for singles (2.529G). Young-disabled recipients have higher minimum rates: 369,911 kr (cohabiting) and 404,048 kr (single).
You can qualify for young-disabled status if you became at least 50 % disabled before turning 26 due to a serious and permanent illness, injury or impairment that's clearly documented. Young-disabled recipients get a higher minimum rate than others with low or no prior income.
You can earn up to a tax-free income threshold (0.4G) alongside disability benefit without the benefit being reduced. Income beyond this is gradually deducted against your disability degree. This calculator shows disability benefit at a 100 % disability degree with no other income.
