Anniversary Calculator
Enter a milestone date — wedding day, work start, move-in day, or anything else — and see how long ago it was, and how many days until the next anniversary.
How to use the calculator
- Choose the date of the milestone you want to count from.
- The calculator shows the exact time since in years, months, and days, plus how many days until the next anniversary.
Use cases
Handy for wedding anniversaries, engagement dates, how long you've worked somewhere, how long you've lived somewhere, or how long a pet has been with you — anything with a fixed start date you want to track.
Round numbers that do not follow the calendar
Most anniversaries follow years — fifty years married, twenty-five years in a job. But many people also mark round numbers that have nothing to do with the calendar year: 10,000 days together, 1,000 days since you met, or the date on which you have been together as long as you were apart.
Such milestones almost never land on a tidy date, and that is rather the point — they are personal rather than conventional. 10,000 days is a little over 27 years, so somewhere between the silver and the pearl anniversary, and falls on an entirely arbitrary weekday. This calculator works out both kinds, so you can pick whichever sort of milestone you want to keep track of.
Traditional anniversary names vary considerably between countries, so the same year can carry different labels depending on which list you consult. The best-known ones — paper, wood, silver, gold, diamond — are broadly consistent, but many of the intervening years differ between national traditions, and several were added by retailers in the twentieth century rather than inherited from any older custom.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between this and the age calculator?
Same underlying math, but the anniversary calculator is meant for milestone dates in general (not just birthdays) — weddings, work start dates, move-in dates, and similar.
Can I use it for a future date?
The calculator is built for dates in the past. For a future date, use our countdown calculator instead.
How is "next anniversary" calculated?
The calculator finds the date of the milestone in the current year (or next year if it has already passed), and counts the number of days until that date.
