How to use the stopwatch and countdown timer
- Stopwatch: press "Start" to begin counting up, "Start" again (now "Resume") to pick up after a pause, and "Reset" to start over.
- Countdown timer: enter the desired number of minutes and seconds, press "Start" — the timer counts down and alerts you when time is up.
Note: the timer only runs while this browser tab is open and active — it won't notify you if you close the tab or turn off your phone's screen.
Frequently asked questions
Does the timer keep counting if I switch to another tab?
Yes — the counting itself is based on actual clock time, not on how many times the page has updated, so the time is correct when you return to the tab, even though the display hasn't updated while it was in the background.
Can I use the countdown timer for several things at once?
This page has one countdown timer at a time. If you need several simultaneous countdowns, open the page in multiple tabs.
Why isn't there a sound when time is up?
The timer shows a clear visual alert when time is up, but doesn't play a sound — browsers often restrict automatic audio playback unless you've already interacted with the page.
