Time Zone Calculator

Convert a Central European Time (CET) clock time to the time in another city, with simple, fixed time differences.

Time in selected city
06:00
Same day as CET
Time difference
−6 hours
Time in CET
12:00

How to use the time zone calculator

  1. Enter the time in Central European Time (CET).
  2. Choose the city or time zone you want to compare with.
  3. The calculator automatically shows the time there, and whether it's the same day, the day before, or the day after in CET.

How the time is calculated

The calculator converts the CET time to minutes since midnight, adds the time difference for the selected city, and then converts back to a clock time:

Time in the city = Time in CET + Time difference

If the result goes below 00:00 or above 24:00, it means the time falls on the day before or the day after in CET — this is shown in the text under the main result.

Important: This calculator uses simplified, fixed time differences. Many countries switch between daylight saving time and standard time on different dates throughout the year, which can make the actual time difference off by one hour for parts of the year. For appointments that need to be exact, check a service with real-time time zone data.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't daylight saving time included in the calculation?

Daylight saving time switches on different dates in different countries, and the rules occasionally change. To keep the calculator simple and predictable, we use fixed time differences based on standard time. Be aware the actual time difference can be off by one hour during parts of the year.

Which cities/time zones are available?

New York, Los Angeles, London, Dubai, Mumbai, Tokyo and Sydney. We may expand the list with more cities over time.

Why is the time difference to India a half-hour figure?

India uses a time zone (IST) offset by 30 minutes from whole hours, unlike most other countries. That's why the time difference to Mumbai is +3.5 hours instead of a whole number of hours.
